Kevin Kline Awards

Despite all the hubaloo on drawger.com right now concerning budgets at a certain alt-weekly, I LOVE doing covers for weeklies. Not only are the subjects always varied and interesting, but the art directors are always smart, friendly, and willing to trust my abilities. Its a great collaboration, and every cover is always portfolio-worthy!

With this particular assignment, the Ad was looking for imagery concerning how St Louis' Kevin Kline Awards (a theatre-actors' event) is unfairly changing eligibility criteria and increasing membership dues after Jason Cannon has taken over as the award show's leader.

A large concern in the article is boycotting by Shakespearean acting troupes due to all the changes and interest in finance over acting skills. So I thought it woud be interesting to try a few ideas playing on the idea of turning Shakespeare's legacy into a financial asset while also trying to be more general in terms of "theatre."

Thanks for reading!

Enjoy the Day,
